I chopped my hair again. I wish it was for better reasons - spontaneous change of image, the type that vloggers do whenever they run out of content. But I am experiencing depression again and it’s not because of the season.

We finished decorating the church auditorium around 4PM in the afternoon of Christmas Eve. We went back to the store so our cashier can go home just in time for Noche Buena. First Christmas as husband and wife.  We're further away from tradition this year because of certain circumstances - December 25 falling on a Sunday, and Tatay spending Christmas in the hospital. Not the most ideal holiday ambiance, but we're thankful nonetheless. We are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, not the traditions. Married life has made me realize the joy of cooking. We've always thought that we can survive in "lutong ulam" (cooked food from canteens and peddlers) . It is very convenient, a little cheaper than cooking our own meals, but we always look for that  "lutong bahay" (home-cooked) taste. Who wouldn't? Anyone who has ever grown up to their parents' cooking will. Last month, I had a terrible flu. My husband cooked chicken soup for me. He could have bought ready-made soup from a canteen nearby. Cooking the soup at home took more money and time to make, but I really appreciate the gesture. I woke up to "Jingle Bells" this morning. It's only September 12 and hearing these commercial seasonal songs meant for December is just annoying. I bet they (the Philippine media) already started the countdown to December 25. Yay! *sarcasm* On the other hand, we sing Christmas songs in church but I feel differently about that. Usually, September is a busy month for us. For so many years until her 30th, our church has been celebrating her anniversary month. Now that she has been reorganized, the schedule is less hectic for many of our members. Instead we are celebrating a series of activities focused on FAITH. But I am still busy. With work. With the wedding. And taking the melody of "Jingle Bells" out of my head. There's a lot of hype about December. Two of my projects need to be finished before the Christmas season. It stresses me out that both of them are still in conceptualization stage. I don't want to be late for my deadline. Too bad ...
